Wine and Crafts at Rideau Vineyards

Every 3 months our womens' ministry holds an outing or day trip for the ladies in the church. After the success of our Girl's Night In, we ventured out of LA towards Santa Barbara for an afternoon of wine tasting and exploring. We chose Rideau Vineyards in Solvang and it provided the perfect backdrop for our picnic.

After snacking on our lunches (picked up along the road from the sweetest little cafe) we made our way over the tasting room. I love that most vineyards will allow you to bring your own food in - it's such a good way to save money while still enjoying a little (or a lot of) wine. The tasting room was one of the nicest and most expansive I have ever visited, comprised of an interior bar as well as a beautiful covered veranda.

After we enjoyed our wine we made our way back towards the tables to share in some crafts and devotional time. Naturally we stopped under the covered arch for an obligatory photo session.

We spent the next hour making journals and hanging out. It was so relaxing to do something with our hands and laugh at our crafting skills. I love that 6 grown women could gather around a table with stamps and colored pencils and have just as much fun as children.

Our time together segued into some time apart as we each found a corner of the vineyards for conversation or prayer. I chose to spend a little time worshipping creation with my camera and getting lost amongst the rows of grapes.

After our devotional time we packed our baskets and loaded the cars for our next stop. Thanks to the staff at Rideau Vineyards for providing such an amazing lunch venue. Stay tuned for a look at our second stop - Solvang Village!
